As the leading reliability and performance testing lab for solar project developers and investors, we develop independent reports on PV and energy storage equipment. Over the past decade, we’ve built a global network that connects manufacturers to 400+ downstream partners who use our reports to guide 30+ gigawatts of purchasing decisions each year. The Role:

We are seeking a full-time Quality Manager to oversee and drive excellence across PVEL’s quality systems. This role ensures consistent delivery of high-quality data, supports accreditation standards, and fosters a culture of continuous improvement across lab operations. The Quality Manager reports directly to the Managing Director.

What you’ll do:

·        Maintain and improve PVEL’s ISO-accredited quality management system (ISO 17025 preferred)

·        Conduct internal audits (technical and quality) across sites

·        Lead corrective/preventive action programs and quality investigations

·        Oversee in-house calibration activities and external calibration compliance (mechanical and electrical)

·        Ensure data fidelity through regular test station checks

·        Review quality concerns and initiate necessary process improvements

·        Manage technician/operator training programs tied to quality standards

·        Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions

·        Perform or review Measurement Uncertainty calculations

·        Oversee Document Management System (DMS), preferably with Microsoft SharePoint

·        Other duties as needed

Skills to be successful:

·        Excellent project management and cross-departmental communication

·        Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

·        Comfortable with hands-on lab work, technical documentation, and audits

·        Proficiency in Microsoft Office, JMP/Minitab, and Python

·        Knowledge of ISO 17025, quality systems, and industry testing standards

·        Familiarity with Document Control Systems and quality assurance practices

·        Proven leadership in quality program development and execution

Preferred skills & experience to be a plus:

·        Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related technical field; Master’s degree a plus

·        5+ years of experience in a Quality and/or HSE leadership role

·        OSHA 30 or equivalent safety certification

·        Experience in solar, electrical, or lab-based industries

·        Familiarity with safety regulations and standards (e.g., NFPA, OSHA, EPA)

·        Experience with tools such as LabVIEW, MATLAB, R, or Modbus

·        Knowledge of DC power testing equipment and data acquisition systems

·        Passion for continuous improvement and employee well-being

Shift details:

·        Monday through Friday from 8:00 am – 4:30pm PST are the core business hours.

Compensation: Starting Range: $100-130k

NOTE: Compensation displayed is a range depending on experience. Maximum amounts are reserved for those candidates that exceed all experience and background requirements. This base pay range provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop with the company.
