Associate Construction Manager

Position Summary

The Associate Construction Manager supports the Project Manager in coordinating project execution, regulatory compliance, permitting activities, and stakeholder communications throughout the project lifecycle. This role serves as a key liaison between the project team, local government agencies, city-appointed engineering management consultants, contractors, and other external stakeholders to ensure project compliance and successful execution.

Key Responsibilities

1. Regulatory Compliance & Government Coordinatio

  • Assist the Project Manager in coordinating with local municipalities, regulatory agencies, utility providers, and permitting authorities
  • Support all permitting, inspection, and approval processes required for project execution
  • Track permit applications, approvals, compliance requirements, and inspection schedules
  • Monitor project compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, codes, and safety requirements
  • Support project audits, inspections, and compliance reviews

2. External Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as a day-to-day liaison between the project team and external stakeholders
  • Facilitate meetings with city officials, engineering consultants, utility companies, and community representatives
  • Prepare meeting agendas, presentations, reports, and follow-up action items
  • Maintain professional relationships with government agencies and regulatory authorities
  • Escalate critical issues and regulatory risks to the Project Manager

3. Construction Coordination Support

  • Work closely with the Project Manager, General Contractor, subcontractors, design consultants, and owner's representatives to support project execution
  • Coordinate construction activities to ensure alignment with approved permits and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor project progress and identify potential issues that may impact schedule, inspections, or compliance milestones
  • Support coordination of contractor activities and interface management among multiple stakeholders
  • Assist in resolving construction-related issues requiring agency review or approval

Qualifications Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in construction project coordination, construction management, project engineering, permitting, or regulatory compliance
  • Experience working with local government agencies, permitting authorities, and regulatory organizations
  • Experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, infrastructure, or large commercial construction projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience of working with global or multinational project team
  • Experience of working on projects in the State of South Carolina
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, semiconductor, battery, solar, or advanced technology facility construction projects
  • Familiarity with EPC, Design-Build, or General Contractor project delivery models
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
  • OSHA 30 certification is a plus
  • SC Licensed Construction Manager is a plus
