Summary

Radiance Solar is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support the company’s accounting and financial reporting functions. This role is responsible for managing key aspects of the monthly close process, construction accounting activities, accounts receivable and payable operations, cash management, account reconciliations, and financial reporting support. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting fundamentals, experience in the construction or renewable energy industry, and a proactive approach to process improvement and cross-functional collaboration.

General Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Lead and execute month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
  • Prepare, analyze, and reconcile general ledger accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Maintain supporting schedules and documentation for balance sheet and income statement accounts.
  • Assist with the preparation of internal financial reports and management reporting packages.
  • Support accounting system implementations, upgrades, and process improvement initiatives.

Accounts Receivable & Revenue Recognition

  • Manage customer invoicing, payment applications, and collections activities.
  • Prepare and process AIA billings and associated construction contract documentation.
  • Review and manage conditional and unconditional lien waivers, sworn statements, and related project compliance requirements.
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging and collaborate with project teams to resolve billing and collection issues.

Accounts Payable & Cash Management

  • Review, approve, and manage vendor invoices within the accounts payable system.
  • Support weekly payment runs and ensure timely processing of vendor payments.
  • Record, reconcile, and report daily cash activity.
  • Assist with cash flow forecasting and cash management activities.

Construction Accounting

  • Apply construction accounting principles, including percentage-of-completion accounting, inventory management, cost of goods sold (COGS), and subcontractor agreement administration.
  • Monitor project costs and support project accounting activities to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Partner with project managers and operations teams to provide financial insight and resolve accounting-related issues.

Audit, Tax & Compliance

  • Assist with external audit and tax engagements, including preparation of requested schedules and supporting documentation (PBC requests).
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support internal controls and contribute to continuous improvement of accounting processes.

Cross-Functional Support

  • Serve as a trusted accounting resource for project teams and other departments.
  • Collaborate with payroll, operations, and leadership teams to ensure accurate allocation of payroll, expense reports, and other corporate expenses.
  • Participate in special projects and ad hoc financial analyses as assigned.

Qualifications, Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • 3–8 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Experience in construction accounting, renewable energy, EPC, or project-based industries strongly preferred.
  • CPA designation or public accounting/audit experience preferred.
  • Experience with percentage-of-completion accounting and project accounting is highly desirable.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems; Acumatica experience preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Primarily office-based work environment.
  • Ability to remain seated for extended periods while performing computer-based work.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment, including computers, phones, and printers.
  • Frequent use of a computer and visual concentration on digital screens for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting of office materials up to 15 pounds may be required.
